Hopefully...
I'm getting somewhere with my deals...a lot of promising work is up for grabs and I will know by next week of their outcome...hopefully its positive. As Vicente would put it...think positively! Well, I would love to. Yet sometimes, when too much negative things have been happening to you for the past couple of months, it gets harder and harder everyday to think positively. But I will continue to be optimistic. 2005, the year of the wooden cock (hummsss sounds funny!), is MY YEAR!

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

When you feel really low and life seems like calvary, expect better and greater things to come. Fill your mind with positive thoughts and lift up your heart with great expectations. -- dero pedero on his article on the power of positive expectations and positive thinking

American TONE DEAF Idols
I swear...there are too many tone deaf people in America...just watch American Idol, the eliminations part and you'll get what I mean. I pity the judges especially Simon. He gives very honest and just comments and all that people do is get angry at him...for what? They don't even understand the basics needed to survive in the music industry such as marketing, promotions, packaging and so on...thus giving them no right at all to complain about their Simon bashing their so called abilities! Then again, the show probably allows those kinds of people...else, the show would be boring without them. Its a win-win situation anyways for both the participants and the show...free TV exposure for the participants, higher ratings for the show.

AND RANTING...

I am exaspirated! When will I ever close a good event deal? Most of the clients I get so far are good but really "kuripot" clients. Sheesh! Not to mention stupid people who don't understand the basics in communcation and marketing...i hate dealing with stupid people, but hey, can't help it.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Birds of the same feather...are the same birds. Stupid ain't what stupid really is...

Leaving me behind...Again!
Grandma left for HK today...and yes, without me again...why does this always happen? Had not my granduncle call earlier, I could have fixed my schedule for my meetings and events to some other later dates. She insisted that I come along but on short notice....just find out later in the week that a lot of happenings have actually moved later in the month and that I WAS actually free to fly out...by then, tickets weren't available. Oh well, so much for free trips to HK, Bangkok and Shang-hi! Aaaarrrrrggghhhh!!!!! I miss my grandma...ooodles!

NOT AGAIN!!!

After so much sadness and disappointments lingering in my system, I decided to ask my Mr. Big if we can go out and talk. I was planning to surprise him by picking him up in the house. Instead, I ended up surprising his mother! Oh well, of all the people in the house! I really felt even worse that evening. Thus, another age old mother and son exchange happened, dampening both me and Mr. Big's spirits...good thing he's such a good sport. And all we needed was a great big bear hug from each other. I wish I he was an actually teddy bear so I could take him home and cuddle him to sleep...i hope he has the same sentiments as I do...hehehe. Thanks darling! I noticed that he's views in life started to harden a bit though...maturing maybe? Then again, maybe he needs someone to soften him up a bit again...

QUESTION OF THE DAY

"Do you actually think that there are people who would die for you?" asked my Mr. Big. He believes not. But what he doesn't know is that I would actually be willing to. Well, what do you guys think?

Kung Fu Fighting
Watched Kung Fu Hustle this evening with JP and Eka. Really great movie! I greatly admired Stephen Chow (Director, Producer, Scriptwriter, Lead Actor) for coming up with what JP called "The Ultimate Kung Fu Movie" as it comically combined all elements of great kung fu movies of the past yet scripted humorously for kung fu fans of this generation. It also contained some spoofs of American movies of which this helps the movie give bigger appeal to a more westernized audience. The special effects are just GREAT! Who would have thought that HK is fast becoming Asia's special effects hub? Then again, I think they do deserved to be called that, especially since its something that Chinese movies have been doin for a long time, with their long history of high flying, kung-fu stunt making movies...what more can I say? I remembered that a lot of recent local movies show during the film fest, had their special effects done in HK too.

ON A SAD NOTE

The Philippine movie is slowing collapsing. With news from JP that LVN Studios, one of the oldest icons of Philippine Cinema, maybe bought off or worse, closing down. Whatever happened? And to think that this country was 20 years more advanced that other Asian countries just 30 years ago but we never caught up. Its so sad and a waste of resources as there are a lot of talented people here in the Philippines but due to lack of resources and opportunities, a lot of them are not able to use their talents to its fullest potential, which could have helped better this country's economy. Hay...

A Loving Evening
I had a great day today because finally, something solid is happening to me, career wise. Did some food styling and will be starting with my yoga lessons by tuesday this coming week. Most of all, I finally got my lollipop from my friend! Not one, but 2 lollipops! Chupachups to be exact.

Hehe...thanks for a wonderful evening!

It's been a while...
Since I updated my blog...it's called laziness..sometimes I wish i had a voice recorder in my head that would record and upload my thoughts on my blog automatically...maybe one day in the next few decades it may be possible...

It was very thoughtful of our neighbor, Mrs. Herrera, who lives across our house, to give us some parakeets * today for my nephew to appreciate. Really beautiful birds I must say. One's in the shade of blue and white and the other yellow and green. Very cheerful too! Don't have names for them yet...though m toying with the name Pico for one of them....

To start the persute of my passion of becoming a stylist/image maker/personal shopper (read:queer), I've been thinking of enrolling in make up school in HK. I know its not really necessary to know how to do make-up in order to become a stylist but here in the Philippines, a successful stylist is also a good make-up artist. Weird huh? Well, better safe than sorry right? It wouldn't hurt to have a degree in Make-up and styling. For all we know it may actually be put to good use in some unexpected situation in the future.

At the same time, I would have better advantage if my degree came from another country (of course, the country should be credible as a beauty central of some sort), especially with the mentality here of "if you get your degree from abroad, you must be good". It's sad but true that being credible also means getting experiences or coming from places abroad. They tend to be more of an advantage than disadvantage especially since the Philippines is not exactly know as some sort of a fashion capital in the world. So there....

Going back to Yoga
True enough, my friend Vicente referred me to his good friend Celia Hawe for some update on her upcoming yoga classes. Her name rang a bell, so I decided to do my research and lo and behold! She was a renound yoga practitioner for the past quarter of a century. She's planning to put up a branch of her Yoga classes here in Makati which starts on the 17th at Studio 116. I'm pretty excited about it especially since I got to talk to her over the phone and she does have plans to train people as yoga instructors of which I plan to get myself into. Wow, a certified yoga instructor...that would be the day...for now, I'll have to see what I requirements are need to get to that goal of mine.

Fellowship of Charing
I miss having our regular chitchat sessions with the gals...Tonjie, Victor, Rene and I. It's been a while since we were complete since Tonj was out of the country for quite some time. My crazy mind loved to dub our gatherings as a fellowship, inspired by the LOTR movies. We would spend most evenings till the wee hours of the morning, talking about things that both do and do not matter but have affected our lives in some way. Not to mention all other gossips in the industry that we belong all to...hehehe. At the same time, we decided to suprise Rene with a sumptuous but intimate birthday dinner to celebrate a year of up, but mostly down happenings...the year that was 2004! I'm really looking forward to our future gatherings and see what 2005 has in store for this group!

RANTS AND RAVES

Rant -- forgot to watch hbo sex and the city and carnivale!
Rave -- long time no chika with my gay barkada! The fellowhip has returned!
Rant -- too many parties to attend...why did they have to all fall in one day?
Rave -- my Mr. Big actually texted me first and actually wished me well this time...finally!
Rant -- still no kape with him though...why is it always like this??? Oh well...
